Requirements
  • This program is open to students who have been a member of the NJAA in the past and presently are junior, regular, or life members of the American Angus Association.
  • Preference is given to residents of New Mexico, Oklahoma, or Texas who are majoring in agriculture or business.
  • Applicants must be either a high school senior or already enrolled fulltime at a college in any state working on an undergraduate degree with a GPA of 2.0 or higher and younger than 25 years of age.
  • Selection is based on those essays; academic achievement; Angus competitive activities and involvement; Angus leadership activities; FFA, 4H, and other agricultural organization involvement; other high school or collegiate organization, community, civic, and church activities; an essay on their leadership potential, career goals, and ambitions for the future, especially how they will promote, advocate, and support the Angus breed and beef cattle industry in their plans; and general effect of the application.
