James R. Leva Scholarship provides financial assistance to employees of New Jersey Utilities Association member companies and their families who are interested in attending college in the state.

Requirements

Applicants must be 1) regular, full-time employees of a member company or 2) the spouse or dependent children of member utilities' employees.

Employee applicants must meet eligibility criteria for any tuition aid program the member company might have or, if none exists, must have at least 6 months of company service.

All applicants must enroll or be enrolled in an approved course of study at an accredited college university in New Jersey and work on a bachelor's degree.

Selection is based on that essay, academic performance, future potential, school and community participation, work experience, career and educational aspirations and goals, unusual personal or family circumstances, and recommendations.
