The Jeannette U. McOwen Memorial Scholarship recognizes graduating seniors from Ocracoke School or a high school in Dare County, North Carolina. Students who are seeking a degree at a college or university are welcome to apply. Those seeking a degree in education and/or work as a teacher receive priority consideration. Further priority is given to graduates of Manteo High School, North Carolina, and those with an outstanding work ethic and/or financial need. The program is managed by Manteo Rotary.

Graduating senior from a high school in Dare County or Ocracoke School in North Carolina

Seeking an associate or bachelor's degree Preference is given to students who plan to major in education and/or work as a teacher, graduates of Manteo High School in North Carolina, students with an outstanding work ethic, and/or students who have financial need.
