Requirements

This program is open to U.S. citizens who are African American residents of Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Louisiana, Missouri, Nebraska, Oregon, or Texas.

Applicants must be seniors in high school or fulltime freshmen or sophomores at a college or university in those states.

They must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, a record of active involvement in school and community activities, and demonstrated social awareness and involvement.

Selection is based on that essay, GPA, SAT/ACT scores, letters of recommendation, and financial need.
