Requirements

This program is open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents working on an undergraduate degree in the area of family and consumer sciences.

Selection is based on enrollment in undergraduate study in family and consumer sciences (5%); a biographical sketch (15%); a statement of short and long-term professional goals (20%); a resume (15%); special recognitions, awards, and scholarships (5%); participation and volunteering in family and consumer sciences and other community and service activities (5%); letters of recommendation (15%); transcripts (10%); and overall scholarship packet (10%).

Extra consideration is given to applicants who have been members of the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (AAFCS) for less than 6 months (2%), 6 months to 1 year (3%), or for 1 year or more (5%).
