The John Rucker Family Angus Scholarship provides financial assistance to members of the Virginia Junior Angus Association (VJAA) who are enrolled or planning to enroll in any field at a college.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of Virginia who have been a member of the VJAA in the past and currently are junior, regular, or life members of the American Angus Association.
  • Applicants must be either high school seniors or already enrolled in college and working full time on an undergraduate degree in any field.
  • They must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher and be younger than 25 years of age.
  • Selection is based on those essays; academic achievement; Angus competitive activities and involvement; Angus leadership activities; FFA, 4H, and other agricultural organization involvement; other high school or collegiate organization, community, civic, and church activities; an essay on their leadership potential, career goals, and ambitions for the future, especially how they will promote, advocate, and support the Angus breed and beef cattle industry in their plans; and general effect of the application.
