Kawerak Higher Education Scholarship provides financial assistance to Alaska Natives from the Bering Straits region who are interested in attending college.

Requirements
  • This program is open to tribally enrolled members of Native villages in the Bering Straits region of Alaska (although they are not required to reside in the area).
  • Applicants must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in a 2 or 4-year degree program at a college or university.
  • Fulltime undergraduate students must maintain 12 credits per semester or 10 credits per quarter. Graduate students must maintain 9 credits per semester.
  • Parttime degree-seeking students must provide verification of their major and register for at least 6 credits per semester or 5 credits per quarter.
  • Minimum 2.0 GPA.
  • Demonstrate Financial need.
