Keystone Chapter SWANA College Scholarship provides financial assistance to families of members of the Pennsylvania Keystone Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) who are interested in studying a field related to solid waste management at a college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to the children and grandchildren of members of the SWANA Pennsylvania Keystone Chapter who are 1) high school seniors or graduate certified candidates who have been accepted at a 2- or 4-year college or university in any state; or 2) current full-time juniors, seniors, or graduate students working on a degree in environmental science, engineering, or other field related to solid waste management at a college or university in any state.
  • Selection of high school seniors and equivalents is based on the essay (10%), academics, including GPA, ACT and/or SAT scores, and academic achievement honors and awards (40%), community service (25%), and extracurricular activities (25%).
  • Selection of current college students is based on the essay and other evidence of the relationship of studies to solid waste management (50%), academics (30%), and other activities (20%).
