King Olav V Norwegian-American Heritage Scholarship provides financial assistance to college students of Norwegian heritage who are interested in pursuing further study of that heritage in the United States or Norway.

Requirements
  • This program is open to U.S. citizens of Norwegian heritage, 17 years of age or older, who have demonstrated an interest in their heritage and who desire to further the study of that heritage at a recognized educational institution in the United States or Norway.
  • The program of study may include arts, crafts, literature, history, music, or folklore.
  • Applicants must submit a 150word autobiography and an essay up to 500 words in length on 1) how this scholarship will help them further their career goals; 2) why they have chosen their area of study and what they hope to achieve through their career; 3) any involvement in volunteer, school and/or community activities and what that involvement has taught them; 4) how their program, course of study, or future plans align with the core values of the sponsor; 5) how this scholarship will help them further the study of their heritage at their chosen institution, and 6) how they will share this experience with the Sons of Norway or wider Norwegian-American audiences.
