The LaKish Hayworth Memorial Scholarship Award for the Arts provides financial assistance to students of the performing or visual arts who reside in or attend college in the Greater Sacramento area of California and identify as LGBTQIA+ or a community ally.

Requirements
  • This program is open to LGBTQIA+ and other community ally students who are enrolled or planning to enroll at a college or university with a major in the performing or visual arts.
  • Applicants must reside or attend college in the following California counties: Alpine, Amador, Colusa, Del Norte, El Dorado, Glenn, Humboldt, Lassen, Mendocino, Modoc, Napa, Nevada, Placer, Plumas, Sacramento, Shasta, Sierra, Siskiyou, Solano, Sonoma, Sutter, Trinity, Yolo, or Yuba.
  • They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, be graduating high school senior or college/vocational student, and be able to demonstrate financial need.
  • Selection is based on those essays, academic achievement, life experiences and ambitions, history of involvement with the LGBTQIA+ community or in related issues and activities, and financial need.
