Lanford Family Highway Worker Memorial Scholarship Program provides financial assistance for college to children of highway workers killed or disabled on the job.

Requirements
  • This program is open to the sons, daughters, and legally adopted children of highway workers who have died or become permanently disabled in roadway construction zone accidents.
  • Applicants must be attending or planning to attend an accredited 4year college or university, 2-year college, or vocational/technical school.
  • Candidates for an M.B.A. degree or a master's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or another constructionrelated program are also eligible.
  • Their parent must have been employed by a transportation construction firm or a transportation public agency at the time of death or disabling injury.
  • Selection is based on academic performance (GPA of 2.5 or higher), a 200word statement from the applicant on reasons for wanting to continue education, letters of recommendation, and financial need.
