Letitia B. Carter Scholarship provides financial assistance to Maryland residents who are food service or hospitality students, teachers, or professionals interested in further coursework.

Requirements

This program is open to residents of Maryland who are 1) high school or college students; 2) high school, college, or corporate instructors or teachers; or 3) hospitality industry professionals.

Applicants must be interested in taking courses in a professional development program or a food service or hospitality program recognized by the Restaurant Association of Maryland Education Foundation (RAMEF).

Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and at least 400 documented hours of industry experience.

Instructors, teachers, and professionals must have at least 1,500 hours of documented industry experience.

All applicants must submit an essay on their personal skills and characteristics that will help them meet the future challenges of the food service or hospitality industry.

Students must also be able to demonstrate financial need.
