Requirements

This program is open to high school seniors whose parents are employed by an LCH member agency.

Applicants must be planning to enroll at a college or university in any state.

They must submit transcripts that include ACT scores of at least 18 and a GPA of 3.0 or higher, 3 letters of recommendation (including 1 from the administrator of the housing unit where their parent works), and an essay of 350 to 400 words on either 1) their approach to dealing with change, crises, and added responsibilities; or 2) an experience in which they have been successful in overcoming an obstacle.

Selection is based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, community involvement, and financial need.
