Requirements

This program is open to high school seniors and college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors who are of Maltese descent and reside in northern California.

As part of their application, students must provide proof of their Maltese descent; a list of honors and awards they have received; a description of their community service, extracurricular activities, and/or work experience; a statement of their future academic goals and objectives; and a 500word essay on 1 of the following topics: 1) an aspect of current and foreign affairs, as related to Malta, including background and where it stands now; 2) an interview of a Maltese immigrant, including their memories of Malta, adjusting to American culture, and comparing Maltese and American culture, education, cuisine, family life, and recreation; or 3) the origin, influences, and evolution of the Maltese language.
