Matt and Joann Butler Youth Development Scholarship provide financial assistance to Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and Camp Fire Girls in North Dakota and adjoining areas who are interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to high school seniors who are members of the Northern Lights Council of Boy Scouts of America, and the Dakota Horizons Council of Girl Scouts.

Those organizations serve all of North Dakota, 18 counties in northwestern Minnesota, 2 counties (Corson and Perkins) in South Dakota, and 2 counties (Daniels and Sheridan) in Montana.

Applicants must be planning to enroll at a college, university, or technical school in any state.

Selection is based on Scouting participation (30%), Scouting achievement (20%), financial need (20%), extracurricular involvement (10%), school involvement (10%), and academic standing (10%).
