The McKeon Scholarship provides financial assistance for college in any state to residents of downstate Illinois who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBT), allies, or children of LGBT parents and have been involved in political advocacy.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of downstate Illinois (all counties except Cook, DuPage, Grundy, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will) who are attending or planning to attend an accredited institution of higher education in any institution.
  • Applicants must be LGBT, allies, or children of LGBT parents.
  • Selection is based on academic performance, volunteerism, and political advocacy.
