Requirements

This program is open to residents of Rhode Island currently enrolled at an accredited 2- or 4-year college or university in any state.

Applicants must be dependent children possessing a valid military ID card of 1) activeduty military personnel (any branch, officer, or enlisted) attached to a base in Rhode Island); 2) retired military (any branch, officer or enlisted) previously attached to a base in Rhode Island; or 3) deceased military, while on active duty or paid retired status (any branch, officer or enlisted) previously attached to a base in Rhode Island.

Selection is based on the essays; academic achievement (based on transcripts with a GPA of 2.5); schoolsponsored extracurricular activities; community service; achievements and leadership qualities; and letters of recommendation.
