Requirements

This program is open to high school seniors and currently-enrolled college students who have been residents of Georgia for at least 3 years or whose parents have been residents of the state for at least 2 years.

Applicants must be attending or planning to attend a college or university in Georgia to prepare for a career in newspaper journalism.

They must apply through a newspaper in the Morris Newspaper Corporation chain and be recommended by a high school counselor, principal, college professor, or member of the Georgia Press Association.

Selection is based on academic record, standardized test scores, career plans, and financial need.

U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status is required.
