MS Thespian Conference Scholarship provides financial assistance for college to members of Mississippi Thespians who attend the MS Thespian Conference.

Requirements

This program is open to seniors graduating from high school who are members of MS Thespians and have served at least 1 term as a state officer apprentice.

Applicants must intend to major or minor in theater or communications at a college in any state.

They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

As part of the selection process, they must present an audition at the MS Thespian Conference in 1 of the following: 1) acting: a 2minute monologue or 2 contrasting 1-minute monologues; 2) acting/musical: 2 minutes with 1 acting piece and 1 musical piece; 3) musical: 2-minute musical theater; 4) technical: a portfolio that best illustrates their area of expertise with a 2-minute explanation and answers to questions from judges; or 5) acting/technical: a 1-minute monologue and presentation of a folio of their work with a 1-minute explanation.

Selection is based on the audition (60%), Thespian activities and theater experience (25%), and troupe director recommendation (15%).
