Requirements

This program is open to students who are legally blind or visually impaired and/or eligible for services from the Kentucky Office for the Blind.

Applicants must be either resident of Kentucky enrolled or planning to enroll full or parttime at a college or university in any state, or residents of other states attending or accepted at a college or university in Kentucky.

They must also submit a 1,000word essay that covers the following: 1) how a National Federation of the Blind of Kentucky Scholarship would help them achieve their academic and career goals; 2) how they would like to be involved in the National Federation of the Blind of Kentucky; 3) any awards and/or honors they have received, and 4) anything else they would like us to know that will help us select our scholarship finalists for this year.

Finalists are required to attend and participate in the annual convention of the National Federation of the Blind of Kentucky; travel, hotel accommodations, registration fees, and banquet tickets are provided.
