New Mexico Horse Council Foundation Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in New Mexico who have been involved with horses and plan to attend college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools in New Mexico and planning to enroll in a postsecondary educational program in any state.

Applicants must submit 2 letters of recommendation, transcripts, a statement of their academic achievements, a statement of their community activities and leadership, and an essay of 200 to 300 words on how their involvement with the horse community has benefited them and influenced their educational and life goals.

Selection is based on academic excellence, personal character and initiative, contribution to the horse community, commitment to horses and others, leadership and/or involvement with horses that benefited others more than self, and writing skills.
