North Carolina Electronic Security Association Youth Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in North Carolina who are the children of active-duty law enforcement and fire service personnel and interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools in North Carolina who have been accepted at an accredited college or university in any state.

Applicants must have a father, mother, or legal guardian who is a fulltime active employee (not on disability) of the police or sheriff's department or a paid employee or volunteer of a fire department in North Carolina.

Selection is based on that essay (20%), grade average (20%), SAT or ACT scores (20%), community service (25%), and academic prizes, awards, hobbies, and school and outside extracurricular activities (15%).
