The Otis Smith Scholarship is awarded to single mothers from Macomb, Oakland, or Wayne counties in Michigan. Applicants pursuing a post-secondary education at the Columbus College of Law at the Catholic University of America, any campus of the University of Michigan, or any campus of Wayne State University are encouraged to apply. Special consideration is given to full-time students.

Demonstrate financial need Employees and their dependents of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, members of the Board of Trustees, and their dependents are ineligible for this scholarship. Preference is given to fulltime students.
