The Paraprofessional Teacher Preparation Grant Program is available to Massachusetts residents who are currently employed as paraprofessionals in Massachusetts public schools and wish to become certified as full-time teachers. Undergraduate students planning to attend an eligible college or university in Massachusetts are eligible to apply. Recipients agree to teach full-time in a Massachusetts public school for a minimum of 2 years upon completing the teaching certification.

Requirements

Resident of Massachusetts

Has worked, and continues to work, as a paraprofessional in a public school in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for a minimum of two years, OR;

Currently employed as a paraprofessional

Seeking a bachelor's degree in teaching at any public Massachusetts school as a fulltime or part-time student

U.S. citizen or noncitizen eligible under Title IV regulations

Not be in default of any federal or state Student Loans for attendance at any institution or owe a refund for any previous financial aid received

Not have received a prior bachelor's degree or its equivalent
