The Rae Ellen Scanlon McKee Scholarship is named in honor of Ms. McKee who was the National Teacher of the Year in 1991 while teaching at Slanesville Elementary School in West Virginia. This scholarship is offered to graduating seniors from Hampshire High School in West Virginia, who wish to pursue a degree at a college or university in elementary education, language arts, or reading.
