Richard Merwin Student Scholarship provides financial assistance to students from any country who are active leaders in IEEE Computer Society student branch chapters.

Requirements
  • This program is open to juniors, seniors, and graduate students in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a well-defined computer-related field of engineering (e.g., biomedical computer engineering, design automation).
  • Applicants must be fulltime students at a college or university in any country and active members of the society's student branch chapter at their institution.
  • They must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Selection is based on involvement in chapter activities (30%), academic achievement (30%), other extracurricular activities in college (10%), quality of a vision statement (10%), and a letter of evaluation by the branch chapter adviser (20%).
  • A brief statement outlining accomplishments must be submitted by each recipient at the end of the academic year.
