Richard Merwin Student Scholarship provides financial assistance to students from any country who are active leaders in IEEE Computer Society student branch chapters.

Requirements

This program is open to juniors, seniors, and graduate students in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or a well-defined computer-related field of engineering (e.g., biomedical computer engineering, design automation).

Applicants must be fulltime students at a college or university in any country and active members of the society's student branch chapter at their institution.

They must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Selection is based on involvement in chapter activities (30%), academic achievement (30%), other extracurricular activities in college (10%), quality of a vision statement (10%), and a letter of evaluation by the branch chapter adviser (20%).

A brief statement outlining accomplishments must be submitted by each recipient at the end of the academic year.
