Swiss Benevolent Society of Chicago Scholarship provides financial aid for college to Swiss students in Illinois or southern Wisconsin.

Requirements
  • This program is open to 1) Swiss nationals with permanent U.S. residency status; and 2) people of documented Swiss descent; Swiss students studying in the United States on a student or visitor's visa are not eligible.
  • Applicants must reside in Illinois or southern Wisconsin (Dane, Grant, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Kenosha, Lafayette, Milwaukee, Ozaukee, Racine, Rock, Walworth, Washington, and Waukesha counties) and intend to attend college on a fulltime basis during the following school year.
  • High school seniors must have test scores of at least 26 on the ACT or 1230 on the SAT; college freshmen must have the same minimum test scores and at least a 3.3 GPA in college work completed through the current semester; current college sophomores and juniors must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.3 in all college work completed through the current semester.
  • Selection is based on academic merit only; financial need is not considered.
  • Family genealogies are not accepted as sufficient proof of Swiss ancestry.
