SDEF STEM Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in San Diego, California who plan to attend college in the county to prepare for a career in the field of STEM.

Requirements

This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools in the San Diego Unified School District and planning to attend a college or university in San Diego County.

Applicants must be planning to work on an undergraduate degree in a field of STEM. Along with their application, they must submit a 1page essay that describes why they want to work on a degree in a STEM field and the importance of this scholarship to help them achieve that goal.

Selection is based on a commitment to their education and future career; potential for success in college as demonstrated by the ability to overcome challenges; participation in extracurricular activities, community service, and/or work experience; and financial need.
