SEANC Scholarship provides financial assistance for college to members of the State Employees Association of North Carolina (SEANC), their spouses, and their children.

Requirements
  • This program is open to SEANC members, their spouses, and their children who are interested in attending a technical school, community college, trade school, junior college, or 4-year university.
  • Applicants must submit a 1,000word personal statement on how their life experiences have influenced their development as a person committed to pursuing their educational goals and what they hope to achieve in their chosen profession or career field.
  • Support is offered in 3 categories: 1) for fulltime study, based on financial need; 2) for full-time study, based on merit, with financial need excluded; 3) for part-time study (by SEANC members only, not spouses or children) who are full-time state employees.
  • For the first category, the selection is based on academic performance (40%), financial need (30%), community involvement (10%), personal statement (10%), and recommendations (10%).
  • For the second category, the selection is based on academic performance (70%), community involvement (10%), personal statement (10%), and recommendations (10%).
  • For the third category, the selection is based on SEANC service (20%), career objectives (20%), community involvement (10%), personal statement (20%), and recommendations (30%).
