Senator Daniel K. Inouye Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance for college or graduate school to relatives of Japanese American veterans who plan a career in the military or public service.

Requirements
  • This program is open to students who 1) have completed at least 1 year of an undergraduate program or are currently enrolled in graduate school and are preparing for a career in the military or public service; 2) are currently enrolled in a university or college ROTC program or the U.S. Marine Corps Platoon Leaders Course but are not receiving an ROTC scholarship; or 3) are disabled veterans.
  • Applicants must also be 1) a direct or collateral descendant of a person who served with the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, the 100th Infantry Battalion, Military Intelligence Service, 1399th Engineering Construction Battalion, or other unit associated with those during or after World War II; or 2) a member or child of a member of the Japanese American Veterans Association (JAVA) whose membership extends back at least 1 year.
