Requirements
  • This program is open to Washington residents who are currently enrolled as juniors, seniors, or graduate students at an institution in the state.
  • Applicants must intend to pursue an initial teacher certification with endorsements in a subject matter shortage area (currently defined as special education, English language arts, early childhood education, science and designated sciences, mathematics, history, health and fitness, or English Language Learner/bilingual education).
  • They must be able to demonstrate unmet financial need.
  • In the selection process, preference is given to veterans of the U.S. armed forces, members of the National Guard, and applicants from underrepresented groups.
