Requirements

This program is open to Washington residents who are currently enrolled as juniors, seniors, or graduate students at an institution in the state.

Applicants must intend to pursue an initial teacher certification with endorsements in a subject matter shortage area (currently defined as special education, English language arts, early childhood education, science and designated sciences, mathematics, history, health and fitness, or English Language Learner/bilingual education).

They must be able to demonstrate unmet financial need.

In the selection process, preference is given to veterans of the U.S. armed forces, members of the National Guard, and applicants from underrepresented groups.
