Texas 4-H Courageous Heart Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors who have been active in Texas 4-H activities in spite of unforeseen obstacles related to their medical/health, family, and/or educational situation.

Requirements

This program is open to graduating seniors at high schools in Texas who have been actively participating in 4-H during the current year and at least 2 of the 3 previous years and plan to attend a college, university, or accredited technical school in the state.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have overcome extreme obstacles related to medical, family, and/or education circumstances.

They must have taken and passed all necessary standardized tests for graduation and admittance to the college or university of their choice.

Selection is based on that narrative (25%), 4H experience and narratives (38%), letters of recommendation (15%), financial need (12%), and a personal interview (10%).

U.S. citizenship is required.
