Texas Journalist of the Year Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in Texas who are interested in studying journalism at a college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools in Texas and planning to attend college in any state.

Applicants must submit 1) transcripts with a GPA of 3.0 or higher; 2) an action photograph of themselves involved in an aspect of student media; 3) letters of recommendation from 3 professional references; 4) a personal resume, and 5) a 2page self-analytical essay.

Their adviser must be a member of the Texas Association of Journalism Educators (TAJE) and of the Journalism Education Association (JEA).
