The Tonda Taylor Scholarship provides financial assistance to residents of selected counties in the Charlotte region of North and South Carolina who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, et al. (LGBTQIA+) and are interested in attending college.

Requirements

This program is open to residents of the Charlotte region, defined as Cabarrus, Gaston, Lincoln, Mecklenburg, and Union counties in North Carolina and York County in South Carolina.

Applicants must identify as LGBTQIA+. They must be high school seniors or graduates, or GED graduates under 24 years of age and enrolled or planning to enroll full time at a 2 or 4-year academic or vocational institution in North or South Carolina.

Selection is based on financial need and dedication to becoming a selfsufficient, productive member of the community.
