The Tony DeBlase Scholarship is available to LGBTQ+ and allied students from Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington. Students entering the fields of sex education, sex therapy, research, or something that furthers the understanding of human sexuality, especially alternative sexuality, are welcome to apply.

Requirements
  • Resident of Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, or Washington for a minimum of three months prior to the application deadline or lived within the state for at least one out of the five prior years
  • High school senior, undergraduate, graduate, doctoral, or medical student
  • Seeking a professional certification, associate, bachelor's, graduate, medical degree, or Ph.D.
  • Studying for a degree in sex education, sex therapy, research, or something that furthers the understanding of human sexuality, especially alternative sexuality
  • LGBTQIA+
  • Proven leadership potential in the LGBTQ+ community or field of study
  • Lack of a broader LGBTQ+ community support system
  • Encountered additional barriers to education, including economic, racial, social, geographical, or being politically disenfranchised
  • Demonstrate financial need
