U.P.S.E.S. Scholarship provides financial assistance to high school seniors in San Diego County, California who are of Portuguese descent and interested in attending college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to seniors graduating from high schools in San Diego County who have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and are of Portuguese descent.

Applicants must be planning to enroll at a 2 or 4-year college or university, a technical or vocational career education program, or a graduate program in any state.

They must have completed at least 30 hours of community service with United Portuguese S.E.S. (U.P.S.E.S) during their senior year in high school.

Selection is based on those essays, academic merit, involvement in the Portuguese community of San Diego, community service, their activity record, leadership, and character.
