Requirements

This program is open to active members of the Virginia National Guard who are residents of Virginia and interested in attending college or graduate school in the state.

Awards are presented in the following priority order: 1) enlisted personnel who have previously received assistance through this program; 2) officers who need to complete a bachelor's degree in order to be eligible for promotion to captain; 3) warrant officers working on an associate or bachelor's degree; 4) any member working on an undergraduate degree; and 4) any member working on a graduate degree.

Recipients must remain in the Guard for at least 2 years after being funded.
