Washington State Chapter American Public Works Association Jack Pittis Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to upper-division students from Washington who are preparing for a career in public works at a college in the state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to residents of Washington who are currently enrolled as full-time juniors or seniors at a 4-year college or university in the state, including students transferring from a community college.
  • Applicants must be majoring in a field related to public works, such as civil, environmental, structural, or transportation engineering, construction management, environmental science, or public administration.
  • Along with their application, they must submit essays of any length on 1) their current participation in public works and their dedication to community involvement; and 2) what they know about the American Public Works Association (APWA) and how they see themselves getting involved in that organization.
  • Selection is based on academic achievement, dedication to community involvement, activities and interests beyond the classroom, and demonstrated knowledge of the public works industry.
