William E. Bowers Memorial Scholarship provides financial assistance to student members and families of members of the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Huntsville, Alabama post who are entering their freshman or sophomore year at a college in any state to work on a degree in engineering, mathematics, or natural science.

Requirements

This program is open to children, stepchildren, and grandchildren of active or deceased members of the Huntsville post and to student members of the post.

Applicants must be entering their freshman or sophomore year at a college in any state to work full time on a degree in engineering, mathematics, or natural science.

They must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher as a high school senior or 2.5 or higher as a college freshman.

Selection is based on scholastic attitude, character, leadership qualities, and personal development.

Preference is given to applicants who demonstrate military aspirations, as exemplified by enrollment in an officer training program.
