Wisconsin Badger Chapter SWANA Scholarship provides financial assistance to members and the children and grandchildren of members of the Wisconsin Badger Chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) who are interested in working on a degree related to solid waste management at a college in any state.

Requirements
  • This program is open to members and the children and grandchildren of members of the SWANA Wisconsin Badger Chapter who are 1) high school seniors or graduate certified candidates who have been accepted at a 2- or 4-year college or university in any state; or 2) current full-time juniors, seniors, or graduate students working on a degree in environmental science, engineering, or other field related to solid waste management at a college or university in any state.
  • Selection of high school seniors is based on the quality of those written statements (10%); academics, including GPA, ACT and/or SAT scores, and honors and awards (40%); extracurricular activities, including athletics, music, drama, debate, and employment (25%); and community activities (25%).
  • Selection of juniors and seniors is based on academics (30%), other activities (20%), and the relationship of studies to solid waste management (50%).
  • Selection of graduate students is based on academics (30%), other activities (10%), and the relationship of studies to solid waste management (60%).
