The Young Black Women Scholars Program provides financial assistance to African American women in the Oakland/San Francisco Bay area of California who are interested in attending college in any state. Women seeking their first degree receive priority consideration.

Minimum 2.5 GPA.

Resident of the Oakland/San Francisco Bay area of California.

Graduating high school senior, undergraduate, graduate student, or working woman returning to college.

Seeking a professional certification, associate, bachelor's, or graduate degree.

African American female.

U.S. citizen.

Participate in community service and extracurricular activities.

Possess leadership experience.

Demonstrate financial need. Priority is given to women seeking their first degree.
