Yukon-Kuskokwim Health Corporation Scholarship provides financial assistance to Alaska Natives, particularly residents of the Yukon-Kuskokwim region, who are interested in working on a health-related degree at a college in any state.

Requirements

This program is open to students enrolled or planning to enroll full-time in an undergraduate or graduate health-related certificate or degree program.

Priority is given first to enrolled members in 1 of the 58 villages served by the YukonKuskokwim Health Corporation (YKHC), second to lineal descendants of enrolled members of those villages, third to employees of YKHC, and fourth to any resident of Alaska (as confirmed by receipt of an Alaska Permanent Fund Dividend within the past 12 months, graduation from an Alaska high school within the past 12 months, or physical presence in Alaska forth the past 2 years).

Although all Alaska residents are eligible, the program's purpose is to train tribal health professionals.

Applicants must submit a 1page statement of purpose that describes their educational and career goals and how their proposed program prepares them for a job in health care.
