From the Institution

Located in the vibrant city of Anderson, in the rapidly growing region of Upstate South Carolina, Anderson University is a highly selective, comprehensive Christian liberal arts university offering bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees on campus, online and at the University Center in Greenville, South Carolina. Students may choose from 59 major degree programs, 40 concentrations, 46 minors, 18 master's and doctoral degrees and eight certification programs. Anderson University is among the fastest growing private universities in the country, according to the U.S. Department of Education and the Chronicle of Higher Education Almanac, and reached its highest student population in school history in 2020, with more than 3,900 students enrolled. Increased enrollment only tells part of the story, however; the reason for it is Anderson's reputation as a premier institution of higher learning and status among the best regional universities in the South as recognized by both U.S. News & World Report and The Princeton Review. Additionally, the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education named Anderson as having among the best student engagement (#26) of all universities in the United States. Further, Anderson University is a four-time Apple Distinguished School; to date, fewer than 50 colleges or universities in the world are recognized as an Apple Distinguished School. Innovation continues to be a strategic goal, and with that vision in mind Anderson launched a new Office of Technology, Online Learning and Innovation in 2018. Growth in academic programs at Anderson University continues at a rapid pace. The University in 2020 launched its Center for Cybersecurity, offering undergraduate degree programs in general cybersecurity, cybersecurity analytics, cybersecurity criminal justice and cybersecurity mathematics. In 2021, the university introduced its School of Engineering. Pending approval by SACSCOC, the university will begin in August 2022 to offer undergraduate degree programs in general engineering and mechanical engineering. Electrical and computer engineering are expected to begin in 2023. Recently added graduate programs include a PhD in Leadership, an EdD in Leadership and Learning, and a Master of Public Service and Administration. At the heart of the University's educational program is an uncompromising commitment to the liberal arts as a means of preparing students with both a breadth and depth of knowledge they need not only to be successful in the career of their choice, but to be adaptable to multiple careers, and ultimately be successful in all realms of life - in work, family, community and faith.
