Bellarmine University offers academic credit, placement, or both to students who earn scores of 3, 4, or 5 on the Advanced Placement exams sponsored by College Board. A maximum of 36 credit hours may be earned through external examinations. To receive credit, official exam scores must be sent directly from College Board to Bellarmine's Registrar's Office. Exam credits are recorded on the Bellarmine transcripts as earned credits and do not calculate into the Bellarmine GPA. Awarded exam credits do not count towards "institutional" credits earned at Bellarmine. If a student subsequently takes a course at Bellarmine for which AP credit has been granted, credit will not be awarded for that subsequent course; it would be considered a repeat.
