From the Institution

College of Saint Mary, the only women's college in a five-state Midwestern region, is a Catholic institution providing access to education for women in an environment that calls forth potential and fosters leadership. The University is located in the heart of Omaha, Nebraska. CSM's mission includes providing access and affordability to all women who seek an education. The University, established in 1923, offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in many of today's highest-paying, in-demand fields, including physician assistant studies, occupational therapy, physical therapy, nursing, science, education, business, and legal studies. Graduate programs are open to all. A specially designed residence hall allows more than 48 single mothers and their children to live on campus while the mother pursues her degree. One hundred percent of all first-time, full-time CSM students receive scholarships and/or financial aid. CSM has several unique scholarship programs. The Marie Curie Scholars Program provides significant financial support and resources to outstanding young women pursuing study in STEM majors - biology, chemistry, math, or human biology. Campus life is rich and exciting. CSM fields 11 competitive NAIA sports: basketball, bowling, cross country, tennis, track and field, softball, volleyball, golf, swimming, competitive dance, and soccer. Our Lied Fitness Center offers free, on-campus workout facilities, including cardio/weight room, swimming pool, and field house. Fine arts play a significant role in rounding out an academic experience, and CSM provides students with the opportunity to continue their passion for music, art and drama. Aksarben Village, Omaha's midtown development just across the street from campus, provides access to new restaurants, retail stores, and a movie theatre. In the classroom, students receive a high-quality education that combines a liberal arts core with practical learning opportunities, career-specific skills, leadership development, and community service. Our study abroad program sponsors annual winter, spring, and summer break trips where students travel to locations such as India, Germany and Spain to learn while serving. The remarkably low student-teacher ratio and benefits of an all-female setting offer the opportunity to be both challenged and empowered in the classroom. To women serious about attaining high achievement in all aspects of their lives, CSM is a proven personal and professional launch pad that provides dynamic opportunities for leadership and personal growth within a uniquely supportive setting.
