From the Institution

Located 35 miles east of Los Angeles, Harvey Mudd College offers a bold, interdisciplinary education for talented, broad-minded and socially conscious future scientists and mathematicians. We offer 11 majors, all in the STEM fields, all of which are grounded in a liberal arts education. As an undergraduate only college, our students are full research participants, working closely with faculty. As a liberal arts college, we seek students who love the STEM fields but also the humanities, social sciences and the arts. Students can also take courses at the 4 other Claremont Colleges. Our students are collaborative, humble, open-minded and curious. Academic and residential life is governed by a student-led Honor Code. We educate engineers, scientists and mathematicians who are strong communicators and creative problem solvers, and who become leaders in their fields and have a clear understanding of the impact their work has on society.
