Herkimer County Community College maintains a reputation of excellence fostered by dedicated faculty, innovative programs and outstanding support services. We are proud of our alumni and students alike. Herkimer's graduation and transfer rates are among the top among community colleges in New York State. Additionally, the Herkimer Generals athletics program is consistently ranked among the best two-year, non-scholarship college athletic programs in the nation by the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators. More than 40 associate degree and certificate programs are offered in art, business, communications, criminal justice and law, education, healthcare and service, liberal arts, and STEM. Twenty degree and three certificate programs, as well as support services, are available completely online through the College's Internet Academy, making it convenient for nontraditional students to pursue degrees or enhance their skills. With more than 22 years of experience offering full degrees and support services online, Herkimer provides an exceptional student experience both on campus and online. Herkimer College offers a full college experience with on-campus housing and many co-curricular opportunities. With a variety of student clubs and organizations and an active student activities calendar, there are endless ways to get involved, develop leadership skills and explore new interests. We support students in a variety of ways, nowhere more evident than in our commitment to access and affordability. In addition to keeping tuition and fees affordable, the majority of our courses utilize Open Educational Resources (OER), significantly reducing the cost of text books for many students. New York State residents have the opportunity to qualify for free tuition through the Excelsior Scholarship program. The Herkimer County College Foundation provides tuition scholarships for Herkimer County residents who graduate in the top 15 percent of their high school classes, as well as more than 80 other scholarships. This year, we are piloting our new Commit 2 Complete program offering $1,000 toward on-campus housing for students who commit to complete their degree in two years or less.
