Kettering University prepares students for lives of extraordinary leadership and service by linking transformative experiential learning opportunities to rigorous academic programs in engineering, science, and management. Recognized as the national leader for automotive engineering and by extension, for new mobility solutions such as autonomous driving and all-electric vehicles. Kettering offers a carefully curated selection of eight nationally-recognized undergraduate degrees in chemical engineering, computer science, computer engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering and management. A recently introduced Bachelor of Science of Engineering degree takes a multidisciplinary approach to mechatronics, robotics, and manufacturing. Undergraduate students engage with more than 100 full-time faculty who specialize in fields from cancer research to renewable energy to fuel cells to entrepreneurship. Students at Kettering gain an edge over their peers at other universities through employment with our more than 420 co-op employer-partner organizations. These are some of the world's most respected organizations and range from start-up companies to nonprofit organizations to some of the largest corporations in the world. The Kettering track record speaks for itself, with alumni who became founders, CEOs, CFOs, CIOs, and vice presidents of companies such as: Merrill Lynch, General Motors, Walmart, Gap, FedEx, Indy Motor Speedway, Detroit Labs and Hurley Medical Center. Students engage and lead in more than 100 student clubs and organizations that range from challenge teams such as AutoDrive, an autonomous driving challenge to SAE International design challenges for Formula 1, Baja, and aero. Intramural sports, sororities and fraternities and numerous affinity groups are all part of the Kettering social fabric. Campus facilities include a mobility research center, laboratories, a crash test center, and the University is constructing a new state-of-the-art Learning Commons that promises to redefine how students learn.
