At Lubbock Christian University (LCU), students are welcomed like family into a distinctly Christian community where professors know students' names. While LCU offers more than 60 undergraduate and nineteen graduate programs, it's more than simply a place to earn a degree: It's also committed to growing excellence, integrity, and character. LCU prepares its students for success through a transformative educational experience where wisdom is pursued, vocation is discerned, and service is fostered. Each year, more than 90 percent of LCU students receive millions of dollars of institutional grants, and small classes allow LCU to offer a wide range of enriching and personal experiences such as undergraduate research projects alongside professor mentors. The Honors College offers small seminars, research assistantships, cultural-enrichment opportunities, an immersive study-abroad program, and internship opportunities in Washington, D.C. in partnership with The Washington Center. Each spring, LCU hosts the Scholars Colloquium, an interdisciplinary forum to promote and highlight original scholarship, that is organized as an academic conference with breakout presentations. LCU students, faculty, and staff present and field questions from the audience. In 2019, LCU hosted the prestigious Christian Scholars' Conference, featuring a lineup of distinguished speakers including David Brooks, the critically-acclaimed New York Times columnist. LCU students are accepted to medical, dental, and law schools at rates far above national averages, and its graduates in the fields of education and accounting are sought after by school districts and firms across the state. Students participate in a variety of organizations and social clubs that provide fellowship and a heightened sense of community, with many options for domestic and international travel, musical ensembles, theatrical productions, and intramural sports. LCU's athletic teams are members of Division II of the NCAA, and all programs annually compete at the national level, with women's basketball winning the 2016, 2019, and 2021 national championships-the only team in NCAADII history to complete two perfect seasons.
