From the Institution

Lycoming College is a place where you can think deeply and act boldly in preparation for careers of significance and a life of meaning. We offer 45 majors and 65 minors, but encourage you to craft a customized, interdisciplinary, and market-driven program tailored to your unique interests and career goals. As a solely undergraduate institution with a student-to-faculty ratio of just 11:1, Lycoming is able to offer access to nationally recognized faculty and advanced equipment from day one. Small class sizes foster workshops, hands-on labs, and discussion-based learning. Unique to Lycoming is the Center for Enhanced Academic Experiences, a gateway for subject-specific career advising, pre-professional guidance, and experiential learning like student-faculty research, internships, fieldwork, and global study. With an endowment among the highest per student in the country, Lycoming gives every individual access to those opportunities. This financial strength also enables us to invest in premier facilities, attract accomplished faculty, and invite world-renowned scholars to visit and teach. Innovation and creativity permeate not only the curriculum, but the entire student experience. Affinity housing communities, an Outdoor Leadership and Education program, a Humanities Research Center, the Warrior Coffee service-learning enterprise, the Clean Water Institute, and the Institute for Management Studies allow you to not only learn your passion, but live it. On campus, our tight-knit community is strengthened through 60+ clubs and organizations and 19 NCAA Division III sports teams. Located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Lycoming is an easy foot or bike commute away from a vibrant entertainment, shopping, and arts scene and is surrounded by a rich, natural landscape that beckons outdoor adventure. Williamsport is conveniently located less than four hours away from five major cities: Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Baltimore, New York City, and Washington, D.C. But Lycoming is proof that you don't need to be in a major city to build a national - and even international - reputation. We consistently earn top marks from third-party publications like U.S. News & World Report, The Princeton Review, and Money Magazine. With a steadfast students-first commitment, Lycoming creates the value you should expect from your college investment.
